hps Jardine was instrumental in developing this highly engaging property into a huge success with our 360° European communications campaign.

We hosted media and influencers at each stage of the competition to boost awareness, created a massive community of social media followers and used our extensive motor sport to attract involvement from high-profile celebrities.

Within three years of being crowned champion, inaugural GT Academy winner Lucas Ordoñez went from PlayStation racer to recording a Le Mans 24 Hours podium finish with Nissan. The 2011 champion, Jann Mardenborough from the UK, has two podiums at Le Mans, has won races in Formula 1 feeder series GP3, and now races in the prestigious Super GT500 series in Japan.

The competition democratised motor sport and captured the imagination of gamers and race fans across Europe, giving Nissan access to the hard-to-reach PlayStation generation.
